This guy is actually nothing more than a one-night entertainer. For the 2005 Juneau Arts and Humanities Council Wearable Art Show, John Leo and I were tasked with some pre-show entertainment on a theme of a carnivale from antiquity. I came up with this guy from a combination of elements - the mask is based on the traditional Il Dottore commedia mask, which were usually black. But I don't know why they were so. We will be starting the year with commedia here at LISPA, so I will pose the question and see if anyone has a legitimate answer.

Great news about the house! May it soon fill up with new friends (and a few of us old ones who come visiting. We miss you here in rainytown, though if my memory serves me, you're probably still getting a bit of rain yourself there in London. I'd sent in a comment last week when I first saw your latest entry, but I must not have done it right because it never "arrived" - oh well.

Wow! A home! Absolutely essential for peace of mind and ease of body - congratulations. It stopped raining here a couple of days ago, but only for a couple of days, and now the air, wind, and rain have a definite Fall flavor. We are missing you but we know you are doing great things over there in the U.K.

Have a safe flight and a great beginning of your time in London.
Here in Juneau the weather finally turned to one sunny day after the other. It is surreal. CrossSound was a success with the audience as far as I can tell. The group of participants was like constantly on stereoids focussing a lot of energy right into the performances. Even the constant rain could not slow anybody down.
